Privacy policy

Date of this policy: 2026-10-09. This page describes what the site does today.

Short version

  • The site sets no cookies.
  • The site has no accounts.
  • The site does not upload audio or recordings.
  • The site asks for your name and email only if you use the contact form, to answer you.

Data stored in your browser

The site uses localStorage in your browser for two features only: the drying timer (the time you started it) and the ticks on the wet phone checklist. This data stays on your device. We do not receive it. You can remove it when you clear the site data in your browser.

The site also installs a service worker. It keeps copies of the site files in your browser so the site can work offline. It does not send your data anywhere.

Microphone

The microphone is used only on the microphone test page. You must give permission in your browser first. The recording stays on your device. We never upload it. When you leave the page or press stop, the microphone stops.

Analytics

The site counts a few anonymous events: a page was viewed, a tool was started or finished, a next-step link was clicked, how far a page was scrolled, and roughly how long it stayed open.

These events go to our own endpoint on Cloudflare. They hold no IP address, no name, no identifier and no text that you type. Older events are deleted automatically after 90 days.

We also use Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count page views and the same events. Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Its servers receive your IP address with each request, use it to work out a rough location, and do not store it.

We set no cookies, and we do not store or read anything on your device to count events. Cloudflare, our host, still handles your IP address to deliver the pages; see Hosting.

Contact form

If you send a message with the contact form, we save your name, your email address, your message and the page you wrote from. They are stored in our database on Cloudflare. We use them only to answer you. We delete them after 12 months.

To stop spam, the form counts how many messages one visitor sends per day. It does this with a one-way code made from your IP address, and it deletes the code the next day. If you send more than one message in a day, a Cloudflare Turnstile check appears. Turnstile is loaded only then, and it receives your IP address and browser data. An address that fills hidden spam fields is blocked for 30 days; we store only its one-way code.

Hosting

We host the site with Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site, and keeps short server logs. These logs can include your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser type.

Advertising

The site shows no ads today. If we add ads, we will name the ad provider and the cookies it sets here before any ad loads, and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Your rights and contact

The site is run by Marcus Brown, based in Bulgaria. He is responsible for any personal data the site handles.

We hold almost no personal data. If you write to us, we use your email only to answer you.

Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (cpdp.bg).
